Assists in filing invoices in proper order; sort and distribute incoming mail; run errands for the department as necessary. Must have the ability to work independently once given a task and have close visual attention to all work. Be able to sit most of the day, have mental alertness when filing. Be able to correctly match purchase orders to invoices for data entry. Must be able to lift medium weight banker boxes. May be exposed with difficult customers at all levels.

Assist staff with administrative/clerical duties. Not limited to, filing, copying, answering phones, creating charts, etc...
Greeter - Welcome patients, assist them to Triage if needed, track patient flow, assist all patients with questions or concerns.
Service Excellence Aide - Provide communication link between patients, family and the ED staff by informing staff if patients or family have questions regarding care, etc.; Offer water, coffee, or food when appropriate to patients, family, and visitors.; Offer magazines, newspapers to patients; Insure patient comfort by providing pillows and blankets as requested; Assist staff with patient transportation to other units; Transport clean, packaged specimens to lab for processing; Offer refreshments to family and/or visitors in waiting room during extended wait times; Assist patients to car or waiting room with wheelchair when appropriate; Provide comfort rounds to family in waiting areas during high volume census; may be used as runner to other departments
Cashier - The Potsdam Hospital Guild operates our gift shop and all proceeds from the shop benefit our Hospital. Help is needed for weekdays and evenings and weekend shifts. Weekday afternoons are needed to bring cart around to patients.
Medica/Surgical Floors (Patient Contact)
Service Excellence Aide - Answer call lights, Quality & Safety Observations, Discharge Patients, Assist staff - Making beds; Transporting clean, packaged specimens to Laboratory Services; Stocking supplies; Clerical duties as needed (filing, copying, creating charts, etc...)
Department Support - support staff with administrative and clerical duties. Filing, answering phones, copying, creating brochures & flyers, and more.
Greeter - Volunteers meet and greet customers as they come into the Hospital and direct customers/visitors to necessary locations. Make customers aware of magazines, coloring books and crayons for children while in waiting area. Volunteers will be provided with a patient census at the beginning of shift. Please help monitor the entrance near the triage to make sure customers are checked in properly and do not bypass the reception area without executing the proper welcome procedures.
