Open every day from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. except during major holidays.
Canton-Potsdam Hospital operates the Urgent Care Center. No appointment is necessary: we see infants, children, and adults of all ages on a first-come, first-served basis. On-site lab and x-ray services are available. Our staff will treat you and then make the appropriate referral to a specialist, a primary care provider, or, in the case of an emergency, to the emergency room.
You should not rely on the Urgent Care Center for health emergencies If you are experiencing a health emergency (see emergency room list below), call 911.
 

Urgent Conditions

  • Stomach ache
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Cough or cold
  • Earache
  • Sinus infection
  • Sore throat, cough or cold
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Dehydration
  • Heat exhaustion
  • Fever
  • Pink eye or minor eye injury
  • Minor burns
  • Nosebleed
  • Mild/moderate asthma
  • Mild/moderate allergic reaction
  • Animal or insect bite
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Infection
  • Cut requiring stitches
  • Fall/Sprain/Strain
  • Possible broken bone (not protruding from skin)
  • Sports-related injury

Emergency Conditions

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Palpitations
  • Numbness in face, arm or leg
  • Sudden paralysis
  • Difficulty speaking
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Sudden and/or severe pain
  • Fever in infant less than 2 months old
  • Seizure
  • Poisoning
  • Choking
  • Severe burn
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Pregnancy-related bleeding
  • Electric shock
  • Unconsciousness
  • Anaphylaxis or severe allergic reaction
  • Deep wound
  • Broken bone (protruding from skin)
  • Loss of limb
  • Injury to head, neck, or spine
