CPH's CCC Hosts "Advances in Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment," October 1, 2017

Potsdam, NYAC– Canton-Potsdam Hospital's Center for Cancer Care, in partnership with Roswell Park Cancer Institute, will host a community talk entitled "Advances in Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment," October 1, 2017, 3:00-5:00 pm, in the Barben Rooms of the Cheel Building, Clarkson University, with Stephen B. Edge, MD, FACS, FASCO and Dr. Velmalia Matthews-Smith, Hematologist/Medical Oncologist.

Dr. Edge is Vice President of Health Outcomes and Policy at Roswell (RCPI), a comprehensive cancer center, in Buffalo, NY, and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is also Professor of Oncology in the Departments of Surgical Oncology and Cancer Prevention and Control at Roswell Park, and in addition serves as a Professor of Surgery at the University at Buffalo. Dr. Matthews-Smith leads and coordinates patient care and follow up at Canton-Potsdam's Center for Cancer Care, overseeing the team physicians, clinicians, and administrative staff. As a Hematologist/Medical Oncologist, Dr. Matthews-Smith focuses her practice on cancers of the lung, colon, breast, and prostate, along with blood diseases.
