Although visits from family and friends aid in the healing of patients, we ask visitors to be respectful of their loved one's need for rest or naps. In addition, his/her roommate will also need quiet healing time, so please whisper or use quiet voices when possible.
When visiting, take all necessary precautions in keeping you and your loved one safe. You may notice a sign on the door of a patient's room with special restrictions or infection prevention guidelines. Please follow these instructions during your visit. If you are unsure about the nature of these precautions, kindly ask a nurse at the front desk.
Visitors are encouraged to take an active role in the care of their loved ones. Ask the nurse or medical provider how well recovery is progressing and you can help during their stay and after discharge.
If you are sick, coughing, or sneezing, consider not visiting until you are well. Most germs spread through vapor or touch; those who are recovering from surgery or an illness may have a weaker immune system and can easily acquire an infection.
When getting ready to visit refrain from wearing strong perfumes. Some patients of our patients have challenged breathing and are very sensitive to strong smells.
There is a quiet meditation room on 2nd floor directly across from the double elevators. This space is reserved for prayer and reflection or a consultation with a medical or spiritual care provider.
There are patient and family lounges available on each of the Hospital's four floors. On first floor there are designated areas for family members to gather near the emergency department and near the imaging department. On the second floor, there is a newly renovated lounge just off the silver elevator. Third floor's lounge area is located just outside the Birthplace. On fourth floor, the ambulatory surgery department has a designated area near the registration desk for family members to sit.
