The Center for Cancer Care
Rebuilt for you, so you can rebuild your life.
Watch the latest TV commercial for the Center for Cancer Care:
Cancer treatment consolidated in one location is a core service of a community hospital like ours. That's why our Board of Directors decided to construct the Center for Cancer Care on our main campus. We were given the go-ahead by the New York State Department of Health, which also conducted its own review of the need for consolidated services. The new 6,000 square-foot facility is literally groundbreaking: it's one of a very few buildings in the North Country that uses geothermal heating and cooling; the building houses the newest linear accelerator in St. Lawrence County, accessed by an "open" design for greater comfort; it provides a light, open-feeling chemotherapy area while also providing privacy.
Two outstanding medical practitioners serve patients here: Howard Gold, MD, a medical oncologist and hematologist, who completed a fellowship at the world-famous M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, will join David Hauerstock, MD, a McGill-trained radiation oncologist. They work with a team of medical professionals to provide compassionate, expert cancer care to our region.
