Avery Named CPH Employee of the Month for July

Canton-Potsdam Hospital employees selected Robin Avery, RN as employee of the month for July, 2010.
Avery’s colleagues noted she is an experienced nurse who takes the time to interact with new staff and ensures they feel comfortable and welcomed to the department. When a conflict arises she wants to be a part of the solution and provides ideas for process improvement and organization, noted staff in nomination materials.
“Robin is looked at as a mentor for new nurses. She is patient, experienced, and enjoys helping others grow,” said Amy Nugent, Medical Surgical 3 Director. “Nearly every month, a group of grade school students visits the Hospital for a tour of services; Robin helps them understand healthcare doesn’t have to be scary. She takes the lead on the tours and the participants seem to appreciate her creativity and ability to make the experience unique and interesting. She always has the right attitude, a can-do attitude,” added Nugent.
Avery was presented with an employee of the month award and pin, Chamber gift certificates, a parking space, and a vase of flowers.
