Insurance

• Fully paid health insurance coverage, including major medical coverage, with the option for employees to purchase spousal/family coverage.

• Hospital bill write-off for that portion of a Canton-Potsdam Hospital bill that is not covered by our group health insurance. If the employee has coverage under another plan, or no coverage at all, this benefit is still applied up to that amount we would otherwise write off for our group members. This benefit does not apply to spouses or family members.

• Flexible Spending Accounts available to all employees; with Hospital contribution for those employees who waive participation in the Hospital’s group health insurance coverage.

• Section 125 Plan for pre-tax deduction of insurance premiums paid by employees.

• Fully paid dental insurance coverage and the option for employees to purchase spousal/family coverage.

• Fully paid life insurance coverage with a value of $100,000, with the option to purchase additional life insurance coverage.

• Fully paid disability insurance.

• Fully paid travel/accident insurance for employees traveling on Hospital business.

Vacation and Holidays

• Ten paid holidays for full-time employees; prorated on base hours of work for part-time employees.

• Ten days’ vacation accrual for years 1 through 3; 15 days for years 4 through 5; 20 days for years 6 through 20; 25 days for the 21^st day and following. Prorated on base hours of work for less than part-time employees.

• Three days’ personal time accrual for years 1 through 3; 4 days for year 4 and up. Prorated on base hours of work for part-time employees.

• Thirteen days per year of sick day accrual to a maximum of 160 sick days. Prorated on base hours of work for part-time employees.

Education and Training

We are proud of our highly educated and certified staff. We offer a full orientation to new employees, and managers held accountable for providing on-going training opportunities. Leadership training is also held for management employees.

Tuition assistance for pre-approved courses is available after completion of one year of full-time equivalent employment at the rate of $1,000 per college semester for course directly related to the position, limited to $2,000 per calendar year.

Employees may earn education credits toward an “Education Day Off With Pay” up to a maximum of 7.5 hours per year.

Retirement Savings

Canton-Potsdam Hospital offers a pension plan to all employees. Tax-sheltered annuity and 403B retirement savings plans are available.

Direct Deposit

Direct deposit offered for all or part of a paycheck, for contributions to a tax-sheltered annuity, and for contributions to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.

Longevity

We value employee retention. We provide a longevity bonus upon completion of ten full-time equivalent years and for every fifth year thereafter, with the option of either 10 additional paid vacation days or the addition of 5% to base wage for 26 payroll periods.
