Mission Statement
Canton-Potsdam Hospital is a voluntary, private, not-for-profit, general, acute-care community healthcare organization. We provide health care to the people of St. Lawrence County, and to areas beyond for specialty services. We work cooperatively to provide or coordinate access to quality health care and to optimize the health of our customers.
Vision We are committed to continuous improvements that: Meet the needs and expectations of our customers; provide or coordinate access to care; develop our skills and talents; provide the human resources, facilities, and equipment we need to serve our customers. We work effectively with others to improve the region’s health care systems.
Service Excellence As part of our mission, we have a commitment to service excellence. We use an external customer service survey firm (Press-Ganey Associates) to measure the service we are providing to our patients and their families. We measure ourselves against national benchmarks for service excellence.
All unit supervisors track survey results on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and make adjustments accordingly. We take the results seriously: five service excellence teams made up of employees from across the organization are empowered to assist unit supervisors to improve service based on customer feedback. It is our goal to reach the 90th percentile for patient satisfaction nationwide.
